Am i over reacting by being hurt by what my mother said?

You are not overreacting. That is not the point though. She sounds like a bad person to be around for your own sake. It is nice to have a mother but we do not always get what we want. Just acknowledge that she is not what you need and want in a mother and try to move on instead of trying to figure her out. I have a terrible mother.
