Is this tv good for gaming and watching standard definition tv?

Hey that's a good choice but my 2 cents. I would get a LG or Panasonic plasma instead if you can find one, I find they are a little better than Samsung but still a good choice. Games are made in 720p anyways so you don't need 1080p from that and if you get HD service its also 720p/1080i.
